Shadow of Charity

About Shadow of Charity (SOC)Founded in February 2022, Shadow of Charity is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-partisan organization. We were established by a dedicated group of young professionals from the Somali regional state and the diaspora, primarily women, who wanted to give back to their community. The organization is legally registered at the Authority for Civil Society Organizations under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia with registration number 6068.

Our PhilosophyOur founders possess diverse educational backgrounds and extensive experience in humanitarian, emergency, and governmental operations. The organization was born from their shared belief that sustainable change must come from within the community itself. This community-centric approach drives everything we do, ensuring that our solutions are culturally accepted and socially sustainable.

Where We WorkCurrently, SOC has a strong operational presence in the Fafan and Afder zones of the Somali Region of Ethiopia. We have made significant strides in our capacity, now employing over 50 staff members who work tirelessly to implement humanitarian and development programs.
